After Michele Ferrero passing away, we wanted to celebrate one of the greatest italian entrepreneurs and the sweet story of his company.
Ferrero company was born in Alba, near Cuneo, in 1946 by Pietro Ferrero.
The lands around Cuneo were full of hazelnuts and so he began to produce an edible cream with this raw material and he called it "Creamalba", which was first sold to the supermarkets of his town.
The cream was loved by people and the high requests brought to the industrial production.
In the 50's Ferrero opened the first factory in Germany where he produced and selled Creamalba and Moncheri, a little chocolate stuffed with liqueured cherry.
In 1964 after the death of Pietro, his son Michele Ferrero gain the property of the company and immediately started to do some modification: he changed the cream's formula and name, and it started to be world known as "Nutella".
New factories were opened in Nederland, UK, Belgium and Switzerland and Ferrero begun to produce a new line of products: Kinder Chocolate.
In 1996 the investments bear fruits, in fact the company turnover was of 7500 billion lira.
Today, after about sixty years of leading in which he as changed and brough to international success his company, Michele passes away leaving Ferrero as one of the biggest italian companies with a turnover of 8.1 billion euro, almost 25000 employees all over the world and the production of important products like Nutella, Estathè and Ferrero Rocher.
LE BUONE IDEE CONQUISTANO IL MONDO
In occasione della morte di Michele Ferrero, uno dei più grandi industriali italiani, era doveroso dedicargli un articolo per ricordare una delle storie aziendali più dolci del mondo.
L'azienda Ferrero nasce ad Alba in provincia di Cuneo nel 1946 ad opera di Pietro Ferrero che comincia a produrre artigianalmente una crema di nocciole dal nome Cremalba, fatta con materie prime della zona piemontese.
Distribuita inizialmente solo ai negozianti della sua città la crema avrà un grandissimo successo e la richiesta sarà tale da dover avviare una produzione su scala industriale.
Nel 1950 Ferrero apre il primo stabilimento estero in Germania dove vengono prodotti e venduti sia la Cremalba che i Moncherì, piccoli cioccolatini ripieni di ciliegia affogata nel liquore, inventati proprio in quel periodo.
Nel 1964 dopo la morte dell'ideatore Pietro e di suo fratello Giovanni le redini dell'azienda saranno in mano al figlio di Pietro, Michele, che da subito cambierà la formula della crema di nocciole e le darà un nome che sarà riconosciuto in tutto il mondo: nasce la Nutella.
Vengono aperti nuovi stabilimenti nei Paesi Bassi, nel Regno Unito, in Belgio e in Svizzera e viene lanciata la linea Kinder Cioccolato. I grandi investimenti in termini di pubblicità e promozione daranno i loro frutti e nel 1996 l'azienda raggiungerà un fatturato stellare: 7500 miliardi di lire.
Michele Ferrero, dopo quasi 60 anni in cui ha rivoluzionato e portato al successo mondiale i prodotti Ferrero, lascia l'azienda di famiglia come una delle più grandi imprese italiane, con un fatturato di 8.1 miliardi di euro, 25000 dipendenti sparsi in tutto il mondo e la produzione di prodotti celebri come Nutella, Estathè e Ferrero Rocher.
